The Dump scored a closeout fit for royalty from luxury mattress maker Kluft, known for its superior quality materials and meticulous handmade construction methods. The brand’s Palais Royale mattress set usually sells for tens of thousands of dollars at one of the nation’s high-end department stores, and for good reason: Its quilt consists of pounds of Joma wool, cashmere and mohair over zoned latex and breathable convoluted foam, creating a plush, pressure-reliving cradle for the body. Layers of Talalay latex alternate with Joma wool and staple cotton farther below to further conform to the body while reducing motion disturbance. At the bottom, a foam encasement and 8 pounds of cotton surround an English support system of 1,681 individually wrapped coils.
